The Buffalo House Museum Consortium (BHMC) preserves and promotes a collection of Buffalo’s rich domestic architectural and cultural heritage sites, and supports these as spaces operating for the public good.
The city’s landscape is marked by a wide variety of significant residential architectures, reflecting Buffalo’s history and communities. BHMC unites and supports existing and emerging house museums in Buffalo, fostering collaboration in programming, preservation, and operations while streamlining services such as fundraising and marketing.
Through this innovative consortium model, BHMC strengthens the sustainability and impact of its members, and heightens their position in Buffalo’s cultural landscape — ensuring they remain vital resources for the 21st century and a model for house museum networks elsewhere.
